Summary

Report due December 1, 2026. No rule changes, and the whole Act expires May 31, 2027.

The bill orders Texas Parks and Wildlife to study how well its own chronic wasting disease rules work, compare them with other states' rules, and look at which deer genetics resist the disease. The department must hold a public hearing, run an online comment forum for at least 60 days, answer every comment, and send a report to state leaders and the wildlife committees by December 1, 2026. No rule changes, nothing new is required of landowners or breeders, and the whole Act expires May 31, 2027.
