Summary

Ships in Chambers County count too, plus the waterway from the Gulf of Mexico.

The bill rewrites the state's definition of a "Galveston County port" so it covers places in Chambers County as well as Galveston County where ships come and go, plus the waterway from the Gulf of Mexico. It touches whoever operates or is regulated under the Transportation Code chapter that uses this term in those two counties. Starting September 1, 2025, the rules tied to that definition reach Chambers County ship traffic too.
