Registered voters in the district no longer qualify. Taxable land required.
The bill changes who can sit on the board of a municipal utility district. Today a person can serve if they own taxable land in the district or are a registered voter there, but the bill strikes the voter option so only owners of taxable land in the district qualify. Directors already serving keep their seats for the rest of their terms, and the new rule applies to anyone elected or appointed on or after September 1, 2025.
