Grounds included. Universities and colleges exempt.
The bill makes it an offense to hold a lit tobacco product or smoke tobacco inside or on the grounds of a state-owned building that houses a state agency office. It applies to anyone at those buildings, but it leaves out university systems and colleges. Starting September 1, 2025, a violation is a Class C misdemeanor with a fine of up to $50.
