Driver and rider both get it when the ride is accepted.
The bill requires ride-hail companies to send a warning through their app when a ride's pickup or drop-off point requires the car or the rider to enter a designated bike lane. The warning goes to both the driver and the rider at the moment the driver accepts the ride, and it tells them to watch for bicyclists. Starting September 1, 2025, ride-hail apps in Texas must build and send these bike-lane alerts.
