Until Congress acts, nothing changes. The Sept. 1, 2025 date is a placeholder.
The bill would put Texas on daylight saving time all year, in both the Central and Mountain time parts of the state. It touches every Texan's clock and anyone who schedules work, school or travel around the time change. Nothing changes on the ground unless Congress first passes a law allowing states to stay on daylight saving time year-round; until then the bill has no effect.
