relating to fee waivers for certain hunting and fishing licenses for honorably discharged veterans.
Caption from analyzed text · version I.
Summary
It reaches past disabled veterans and active-duty members.
The bill requires the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to waive the fee for hunting licenses, fishing licenses, and the annual combination hunting and fishing license for honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. armed services. It reaches all honorably discharged veterans, not just disabled veterans and active-duty members, who already get the waiver under current law. Starting September 1, 2025, those veterans would pay nothing for these licenses, with no refunds for licenses bought before then.
