Summary

Any bodily injury, any property damage, or fear of serious injury.

This bill makes more drive-by shooting cases count as a first-degree felony under the aggravated assault law. It reaches people who fire at a home, building, or vehicle from inside a car or while heading to or from one, if they cause any bodily injury, damage any property, or put someone in fear of imminent serious bodily injury. Starting September 1, 2025, these cases face the top felony level instead of second degree, where the current text requires serious bodily injury.
