Caption from analyzed text · version I.
Drops the rule that diagnosis had to come before age 10.
The bill widens the state's autism insurance mandate by updating the definition of autism spectrum disorder to the current diagnostic manual while keeping older diagnoses covered. It touches health benefit plans and their enrollees with autism, removing the rule that coverage applied only if diagnosis came before age 10. Plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026 can no longer cap applied behavior analysis benefits at $36,000 a year for enrollees 10 and older, and must cover treatment from the date of diagnosis at any age.
