Summary
Same list as carisoprodol. Pregnant women with their own pills are exempt.
The bill adds mifepristone and misoprostol to Schedule IV of the Texas Controlled Substances Act, the same list that already holds carisoprodol. That puts the two drugs under controlled-substance rules for anyone who makes, prescribes, dispenses or possesses them, but a pregnant woman who has them for her own use is exempt from the possession rules. Starting September 1, 2025, possessing or handling these drugs outside those rules can be charged under the existing controlled-substance offense provisions, and conduct before that date is judged under the old law.
