Summary

Per two-year budget period. School and veterans funds get the rest.

The bill caps the money the state lottery can pay out in prizes at 40 percent of ticket sales in each two-year budget period. It touches lottery players, the Texas Lottery Commission, and the school and veterans funds that get what is left over. Less money goes to winners and more of each ticket dollar flows to the foundation school fund and the veterans' fund, starting with the biennium that begins September 1, 2025.
