Summary

The notice requirements go with them.

The bill deletes two subsections, (n) and (o), of Section 46.15 of the Penal Code. According to the caption, those subsections limit when a defense applies to the offense of carrying a handgun in certain prohibited places, and they set related notice requirements. Starting September 1, 2025, those limits and notice rules are gone for any offense committed on or after that date, and older cases stay under the old law.
