Summary

Public election records, open for inspection within 10 days of asking.

The bill requires election records that are public information to be open for inspection within 10 days of a request, and it strikes the old Subsection (b) limit that the access rule was made subject to. It reaches every county election office and custodian of election records, and it requires them to make original voted ballots, or ballot images where a county keeps them, available for public inspection within 60 days after election day. Custodians must also adopt procedures to black out any voter's personal identifying information on a ballot before it is shown, starting September 1, 2025.
