Summary

Plus zero counters before polls open.

The bill requires election judges to print a vote-count tape from each voting machine when polls close on the last day of early voting and on election day, and to confirm machine counters read zero before polls open. Both the presiding judge and the alternate presiding judge must sign the tapes, up to three poll watchers may sign on election day, and the tapes go into envelope no. 2 with the other precinct records. It also says that a person who prints a tape under this procedure does not commit an offense under the section the bill amends, and it takes effect September 1, 2025.
