Summary
Certain driver’s licenses come off the list.
The bill changes which state-issued IDs a voter can show at the polls. It excludes certain driver's licenses listed by Transportation Code section number. It also cuts the grace period for an expired Department of Public Safety driver's license, election ID certificate or personal ID card from four years to one year, while military IDs, passports and handgun licenses keep the four-year window. Voters whose DPS-issued ID expired more than a year ago, or who hold one of the excluded license types, can no longer use that card as photo ID in elections ordered after the bill takes effect.
