Summary

The rivers are the whole test.

This bill lets one county, the county where the Llano River and the James River meet, charge a hotel occupancy tax on hotel stays. The tax would not apply to hotels inside a city that already charges its own hotel tax. Hotel guests in the county's unincorporated areas, and in cities without their own hotel tax, could pay a new county tax on their rooms if the commissioners court chooses to adopt it.
