Summary
Up from 15. Their children can stay too.
The bill lets an emergency shelter house a minor for up to 30 days instead of 15 before it needs the minor's own consent or a housing-assistance waiting-list status to keep going. It also lets shelters house the minor's children who come along, and lets certain minors consent to shelter for those children too. Runaway or independent teens, pregnant or parenting minors, and the shelters that serve them get a longer window and can keep families together under one roof.
