Summary

Attorneys get 10 days to finish the training.

The bill requires attorneys hired or employed to help government bodies handle open meetings and public records duties to complete the state's training on those laws within 10 days of starting that work. It also ends the option for a public official to skip public information training by sending a designated coordinator in their place, and requires that coordinator to train within 90 days. Attorneys already on the job must train by October 1, 2025, officials who previously relied on a coordinator must train by January 1, 2026, and outside attorneys cannot bill the government for their training time.
