Summary

MRI physicists join the medical physics specialties needing their own license.

The bill adds magnetic resonance imaging physics to the list of medical physics specialties that need their own state license in Texas. It touches medical physicists who work with MRI equipment and the Texas Medical Board, which must write rules to put the change in place. Once rules are adopted, a medical physicist may not practice MRI physics without holding a license for that specialty.
