Summary

No registered officer on staff? The trainee works without any supervision.

The bill changes the rule that a code enforcement officer in training must work under a registered code enforcement officer. If the trainee's employer has no registered code enforcement officer on staff, the trainee may now do code enforcement work without any supervision. This affects trainees and the local governments or other employers that hire them, and it takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote or on September 1, 2025.
