Summary

Gross limit of 69,000 pounds or the axle formula, whichever is greater.

The bill rewrites the weight rules for ready-mixed concrete trucks on Texas public highways. It keeps the 46,000-pound tandem axle limit and the 23,000-pound single axle limit, applies the tandem limit to any group of axles within nine feet, and adds a gross weight limit set at 69,000 pounds or the state's standard axle formula, whichever is greater. It also bars these trucks from exceeding their tires' load rating, which affects concrete haulers and the officers who enforce highway weight limits starting immediately or on September 1, 2025.
