Summary

The State Board of Education cannot adopt them, and no district must teach them.

The bill bars the State Board of Education from adopting the national sexuality education standards written by the Future of Sex Education Initiative, and it says no school district or charter school can be required to teach any part of them. It also adds a rule that local human sexuality course materials and instruction chosen by school boards may not be based on those standards, on top of the existing abstinence-first requirements. It touches the State Board of Education, public school boards, charter schools and students in sex education classes, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.

SECTION 3. This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026
