Summary

Missing limb, surgical revision or traumatic amputation all qualify.

The bill orders the state Medicaid program to cover prosthetic devices for any recipient who needs one because of a missing limb, surgical revision, or traumatic amputation of an extremity, hip, or shoulder, at any age. It touches Medicaid recipients with limb loss, especially adults who may not be covered now, and the Health and Human Services Commission that runs the program. If a federal waiver is needed, the agency must ask for it and may hold off until it is granted; otherwise coverage starts under a September 1, 2025 effective date.
