Summary

Every level, appellate down to municipal courts, can apply.

The bill orders the Texas Judicial Council to write rules for a centers of excellence program that identifies, supports and recognizes judges who do strong work. Judges at every level, from appellate courts down to justice and municipal courts, can apply on the council's form. The council must weigh things like fairness, case flow and whether the court follows rules on court security, fee collection, indigent defense and guardianship fraud prevention, but the final text adds no pay or money to the award.
