The bill requires every Texas senator and state representative to substitute teach at a public school in their own district for at least one school day each school year. Members must report whether they did it to their chamber's administration committee, which keeps a public list of members who did not comply. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, lawmakers who skip the day get named on that public list, but face no other consequence.
