Summary

Now the Cedar Port Navigation and Improvement District, with more powers.

The bill renames Chambers County Improvement District No. 1 as the Cedar Port Navigation and Improvement District and widens the powers it can use. It touches this one special district in Chambers County, plus the landowners and waters it can now reach through added Water Code powers and land acquisition authority. On the ground, the district gains general district powers under Chapter 49 and all of Chapter 60 of the Water Code, and it may act as a federal project partner, including running barges and dredging on water outside its own territory.
