A parent can ask campus providers to share results with the student’s doctor.
The bill lets Texas school districts contract with local mental health authorities or community mental health providers to offer mental health services on campus. With a parent's or guardian's request, those providers may share a student's assessment or treatment results with the student's primary care doctor. It also requires the state health agency to let school districts sign up as Medicaid providers, so districts can bill Medicaid for mental health services given to students on Medicaid.
