Summary

Leaving active duty within 12 months, and agreed in writing.

The bill orders the Texas Veterans Commission to build and keep an electronic list of names and contact information for service members who will leave active duty within 12 months and who agree in writing to be on the list. State agencies and local veteran service groups, including county veterans service offices, can use the list only after they apply to and are approved by the commission. Those approved groups can then reach departing service members with information on state and local veteran benefits like jobs, training, housing, health care and support groups, starting September 1, 2025.
