Summary

No mRNA vaccines in Texas. Cancer and genetic disorder treatments exempt.

The bill bars anyone in Texas from giving a vaccine or other immunization product that delivers mRNA coded for a viral protein. It reaches doctors, pharmacists, clinics and anyone else who administers shots, but it exempts mRNA products used to treat cancer or a genetic disorder. Starting September 1, 2025, mRNA vaccines could not be given in Texas, and the ban ends on its own on September 1, 2035.
