Summary

Health and sex-education laws lose the old language too.

The bill repeals the Penal Code section on homosexual conduct, along with several Family Code and Government Code sections that the caption describes as tied to the recognition of same-sex relationship statuses. It also strips language from two health and sex-education laws that told students homosexual conduct is not acceptable and is a criminal offense. On the ground, those statutes leave the books, and state sex-education and HIV-education materials no longer have to carry that message, starting immediately with a two-thirds vote or on September 1, 2025.
