Bill text, introduced version (I)

The bill adds two new appointed seats to an existing state board. The caption honestly says the bill changes the board's makeup, so this is a plain expansion, not a hidden one.

Summary

Lieutenant governor and speaker get one pick each. The picks draw lots for whose term ends first!

The bill grows the board that runs the Texas Permanent School Fund Corporation from nine members to 11. The two new seats go to one appointee of the lieutenant governor and one appointee of the speaker of the house, each confirmed by the senate and each required to have investment and asset management expertise. The new members serve staggered six-year terms, and the first two draw lots to see whose term ends in 2029 and whose ends in 2031.
