Summary

Unless a younger student shows a reasonable need.

This bill bars Texas public school districts from releasing a student's exact numerical class rank before the student reaches 11th grade. It affects school districts and students in grades below 11th, though a younger student who shows a reasonable need, such as applying to an academic program that asks for rank, can still have it released. Districts may still share a student's grade point average and percentile rank at any time, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
