Summary

Plus a list of approved facilities nobody uses yet.

The bill makes the Texas Board of Nursing send the Higher Education Coordinating Board yearly data on nursing clinical training sites, plus a list of facilities that meet the approval standards but are not yet used as clinical sites. The Coordinating Board must then publish each site's location, the number of students training there, and the total capacity for nursing students. Nursing schools, students and health facilities get a public picture of where clinical training slots exist, though no facility can be forced to take students or to file new reports.

(c) This section may not be construed to authorize the board

programs or require additional reporting from those facilities.

SECTION 2. Subchapter D, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is

(b) The board shall:

(1) provide to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating

Board information detailing the requirements for approving

(2) identify and provide a list to the Texas Higher

Education Coordinating Board of all acute care or rehabilitation

facilities, primary care settings, long-term care facilities,

nursing homes, residential care settings, and any other appropriate

sites not identified by the board as clinical sites that meet the

requirements described by Subdivision (1).

(c) Not later than June 1 of each year, the board shall

prepare and provide to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating

Board a report with the information described by Section 61.066,

SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
