Summary

Which cities? The bill names them only by Tax Code subdivision number.

The bill adds four more city categories, referenced only by subdivision number in the Tax Code, to the list of cities that can receive state tax revenue from a hotel and convention center project. It also adds those cities to the list that can pledge that tax revenue to pay debts tied to the project. On the ground, the covered cities can keep and borrow against state tax money from their hotel projects, starting immediately with a two-thirds vote or on September 1, 2025.
