relating to prohibiting insurers from requiring the bundling of personal lines property or casualty insurance policies.

Caption from analyzed text · version I.

Summary

Forced home and auto bundling becomes an unfair practice.

The bill makes it an unfair or deceptive insurance practice for an insurer to force a customer to buy several personal property or casualty policies from the same company, or to buy one such policy as a condition of getting another. It touches insurers selling personal lines like home and auto coverage, and the Texans who buy those policies. Starting September 1, 2025, an insurer cannot tie issuing one personal policy to the customer buying another, and the practice falls under the existing unfair-practices chapter of the Insurance Code.
