Summary

The definition widens to anything under the Election Code.

The bill requires election offices to make public election records available for inspection within 10 days after someone asks. It removes an existing provision that the text previously made this access 'subject to,' and it widens the definition of 'election record' to include anything government distributes or creates under the Election Code. Election record custodians face a firm deadline, and members of the public get a broader set of records they can inspect starting September 1, 2025.
