Summary

Campus liaisons and housing help cover homeless students too. Data deal due March 1, 2026.

The bill expands existing campus liaison officers, between-term temporary housing help, and a state data-sharing agreement so they cover homeless college students as well as students who are or were in foster care. It touches every Texas public college and university, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Education Agency, and the Department of Family and Protective Services. Schools that run dorms must give homeless students priority for housing, liaisons must get federal-program training, and the three agencies must sign a data agreement by March 1, 2026 to track how these students do.
