Summary
Fix the problems before the report gets denied.
The bill requires cities and counties that run, or pay a vendor to run, an online system for filing police reports to give the person who filed a report a fair chance to fix problems in it before the report is denied. It touches residents who file police reports online and the local governments and contractors that operate those systems. On the ground, a defective online report can no longer simply be rejected; the filer must first get a reasonable opportunity to correct it, starting September 1, 2025.
