Summary

Lottery Commission, prisons and four river authorities get two more years.

This bill pushes back the sunset deadlines for several state bodies by two years, moving them from 2025 to 2027. It covers the Texas Lottery Commission, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and its board, the Department of Information Resources, the Texas Ethics Commission's review cycle, and four river authorities: Angelina and Neches, Lower Neches Valley, Sabine, and Trinity. On the ground, these agencies keep running unchanged for two more years before the Sunset review decides whether to continue, change or abolish them.
