Summary

Deer join the farm and ranch tax exemption list.

The bill adds game animals and exotic animals to the list of farm and ranch items that are exempt from Texas state sales and use tax. It touches buyers and sellers of game animals, such as deer, and exotic animals, such as those bred and sold on ranches, along with the state comptroller who collects the tax. Once it takes effect, these animal sales are no longer taxed, but tax already owed before that date still has to be paid.
