Summary

Any legislator or the lieutenant governor, overriding any other law.

The bill lets any Texas legislator or the lieutenant governor ride along with a state agency employee during an enforcement action, overriding any other law that would block it. It also requires any governmental body covered by the open meetings law to let a legislator or the lieutenant governor sit in on its closed meetings if the request is for a legislative purpose, with reasonable notice and observation only. State agencies, local governing bodies, and the officials who request access are affected, and closed-door sessions and enforcement work could now have state lawmakers watching.
