No pay linked to higher market, appraised or taxable values.
The bill rewrites a sentence in the Tax Code so that no portion of a chief appraiser's pay can be directly or indirectly linked to the expectation of higher market, appraised or taxable values in the appraisal district. It touches chief appraisers and the appraisal district boards that set their pay through the budget. On the ground, any bonus or pay piece tied even partly to expected value increases is plainly barred, starting immediately or September 1, 2025.
