Summary

Report due September 1, 2026, on how far costs rose. The state contribution stays put.

The bill orders the Texas Education Agency and the Legislative Budget Board to study how much state help goes to the health coverage program for active school employees. The study must measure how much coverage costs have risen since the state last raised its contribution, and price out raises that are either across the board or tied to years of service. A written report is due to the legislature by September 1, 2026, and nothing about school employee coverage or the state contribution changes on the ground.
