SB 2525
Campbell Bill Stretches A Disannexation Window By 30 Days
Died in committee
Verdict: Smells
Why it's charged
Bracket bill
The only change is a 30-day date extension inside a law already limited to cities of 500,000 or more. That pulls in whatever annexations were finalized in December 2017, which is likely a very small set of places. The caption admits the bill covers only "certain areas," so this is a mild signal.

Summary
December 1, 2017 becomes December 31. One more month of big-city annexations gets a disannexation election.
The bill moves the end date of an existing disannexation window from December 1, 2017, to December 31, 2017, for areas annexed by cities of 500,000 or more people. It touches residents of populated areas that such a city annexed for full purposes in that extra month, and the city that annexed them. Any city newly covered must hold the disannexation election on the first uniform election date that allows time after September 1, 2025.
