Summary

The board rules on each course by December 31, 2026. Voters go to the polls November 3.

The bill orders the State Board of Education to review every advanced placement and international baccalaureate course offered in Texas public schools and charter schools, including exams, teaching and training materials, for compliance with state law. Based on that review, the board must decide whether schools may keep offering each course, with a deadline of December 31, 2026. The requirement expires September 1, 2027, so the board gets one review window that could end with some AP or IB courses barred from Texas schools.
