Summary

Covers residential and day placement facilities districts pay for.

The bill tells the Texas Education Agency what to look at when it inspects residential and day placement facilities that school districts pay to serve students with disabilities. During those inspections, the agency must consider whether the facility's educational services match medical standards of care and best practices for the student's disability, and whether staff have completed and follow crisis prevention and intervention training. It applies starting with the 2025-2026 school year and changes the checklist for existing inspections without creating new penalties or offices.
