Summary

A signed statement, kept on file. Homework, basically.

The bill requires each member of the Texas Lottery Commission to sign a written statement saying they have read and understand their duties, and to hand it to the executive director, who keeps it on file for the member's term. It touches only the appointed commission members and the commission's executive director, and members already serving before September 1, 2025, must also sign as soon as practicable. On the ground, commissioners sign a form listing their rulemaking duties and pledge to follow the lottery chapter under strict interpretation, but the bill sets no deadline and no consequence for failing to sign.
