Summary

Local EMTs too. College readiness testing skipped.

This bill adds emergency medical technicians who work for a local government, firefighters, and peace officers to the list of students exempt from the Texas Success Initiative, the state's college readiness testing requirement. It touches those public safety workers when they enroll at Texas public colleges and universities. On the ground, these students can skip the readiness assessment and any required remedial coursework that would otherwise apply.
