Summary
Prosecutors investigating an officer join hiring agencies with access.
The bill lets a prosecutor's office that is investigating a police officer for an offense see the officer's department personnel file, alongside the hiring agencies that already have access. It touches police officers in civil-service cities whose departments keep these internal files, and the prosecutors who investigate them. Starting September 1, 2025, prosecutors running a criminal investigation of an officer gain a legal right to view that file.
