Summary

Blind-trust values leave reports. Failure to file brings a written notice instead of referral.

The bill changes what state officials must report on their personal financial statements and what happens when they fail to file. Officials no longer have to report the value range of a blind trust, and the Ethics Commission no longer refers a failure to file to prosecutors; it only sends the official a written notice. The commission must also hide the home addresses of all state officers, candidates and state party chairs before showing the statements to the public, not just judges and Civil Commitment Office leaders.
